So you’re setting up your app and you’re curious about how you’re going to use/create push notifications, or maybe you’ve already launched and need to remind yourself of how it works.

You’re in the right place!

This is how to set up and schedule push notifications.

Disclaimer Scheduled push notifications will only go out to the delegates that have logged into the app at the time that you’re scheduling the push notification(s).

In other words: If you’re (for example) two weeks out from the event and the majority of your delegates haven’t logged in yet, don’t schedule the notification(s). Wait until the morning of the event ideally, as that’s when most of the delegates will have logged in by. You can use the statistics in your event dashboard to see how many have logged in.

The first thing you’ll want to do is find the ‘Push Notification’ module in the menu.

You’ll notice that there are a few options once you click on it. The most important ones are the ones I’ve put stars next to, so let’s cover those in more depth.

‘Selected Session’ push notifications go out to all the delegates that have added a specific session to their agenda.

When you click on any of the options, you’ll be taken to a page with the ‘create push’ button:

Note We haven’t come across a character limit yet, but we recommend sticking to a maximum of 100 characters (including spaces) for push notifications.

Push notifications should be concise as they don’t have much room to display on.

All Delegates/Sponsor Representatives

For all delegates/sponsor representatives, that button will take you to a page that looks like this.

Here you can put in the message that you want to send out. You can also mark it as news, but that’s just to refer to in the back end - it doesn’t change how the push notifications look.

You are required to schedule the push notification, so we recommend you schedule at least 10 minutes ahead of you.

Once you’re happy with the message and the scheduled time, click ‘submit’. You’ll still be able to edit the message and scheduled time, up until the push notification goes out.
